Validity and Blog Talk
I've been asked to create and present on Blogs for Job Seekers. In doing so, I'm taking care of some administrivia, and claiming my blog on Technorati.
To do so, I have to link to my Technorati Profile. Yee. Hah. It's well past due.
I'm also putting together a glossary to include with the handout.
Now when I do talks, I often use a PowerPoint presentation, but I do not use the presentation itself as the handout. I like to make the handouts a little more user friendly, and succinct. A good slide presentation only includes talking points, highlights and examples, and shouldn't include all the details that the audience may need. I'll probably have a 3-4 page handout, and a 30-odd slide presentation. No need to waste paper.
The topic is blogs for job seekers, so my audience is going to include technophobes and those uninitiated to the wonders of social media. It's a big, scary world out there for some folks, and I hope to make it a little less daunting.
The BlogKnowledgeable will not get that much out of it. Midstream of conciousness thought... have you ever noticed how Suessian "blog" is? It's like Whoville and Whocakes, and such. Horton should have a blog.
