Experiment!

Lectora - Interactive eLearningTwo important things to remember for anyone is to think outside the proverbial box, and to allow one's curiosity to have .  I got a reminder of that yesterday at a User Group for Lectora.  John Woods, an account rep for the government and academic markets at Trivantis, met with this new group to talk about changes in Lectora 2008, and to share a particular issue within Lectora that they resolved.

During that time, I saw a way to print a certificate of completion within a course without having to include a button to print. DOH!

I was embarrassed at how easy it was, all that's needed is to create an action with the following properties:
    On: Show
    Action: Print Current Page

So easy!  In the rush to get started, I haven't played with this tool enough.  I just started using it in late November, and once I got oriented in it, I hit the ground running.  But I haven't taken enough time to explore the possibilities with every feature.  Yesterday, I was reminded how important that is.

One thing I've done in the past to learn is to create projects for myself, what I called Skill Building Projects.  I created the project which includes steps to teach other people how to explore a particular tool to help helpdesk agents familiarize themselves features they should know to support that tool.  I need to do more of that for myself.  So I'm going to start doing that again, starting with Lectora.
