LinkedIn: That New Toy Feeling

I was scheduled to spend two hours helping a group of recruiters understand LinkedIn and how it works for them. I ended up being there three and a half.

After a quick discussion and Q&A, we got to do some hands on. It was like watching kids with new toys at Christmas. "OH! I know him, he's there now?" and other comments about people they know that they found.  Using LinkedIn to find candidates, and old clients and colleagues, it was great.  We didn't even let some issues with exporting an address book to .CSV format get in the way.   I suspect there will be a lot of invite and recommendation traffic going on in Austin and San Antonio the next few days.

I almost feel like gloating, because just some suggestions from me made people's eyes light up, as they saw the possibilities.  I helped.  That makes me feel good.

It was a great afternoon.
